This guitar isn’t something that turns up very often. The original ‘Longhorn’ design was from Danelectro, which ceased production of the model in the late 60’s. Hondo copied the design and this instrument was made in Japan (probably by Tokai) around 1978. The unique Lyre design features a 31 fret neck with a 3+ octave range. With only one pick up, you’d think the tone was fairly limited. But thanks to the active electronics and three toggle switches, you have quite a selection of sounds to choose from.
Perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea in the looks department but a unique playing experience and very collectible.
Includes original case.
